The Y2022 Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) annual valentine day event has been held in collaboration with the crew of TV Continental’s ‘Your View’ programme.
Couples, guests and revellers marked the day with a boat cruise on LAGFERRY’s 180 tonnage barge with over 120 people on board, sailing from the Five Cowries Terminal Falomo-Ikoyi, through Civic Tower, Lekki Adax Jetty, the popular Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge, Banana Island, Third Mainland Bridge and back at Five Cowries Terminal, Falomo-Ikoyi as participants savoured the ambience of the Lagos coastline while having fun and playing games.
The Managing Director of LAGFERRY, Mr. Abdoulbaq Balogun, expressed excitement and satisfaction at the event, assuring that the agency will continue to partner with companies and entertainment managers to showcase the tourism potentials of Lagos.
“We are committed to continuing this tradition, and more, as it relates to one of the pillars of the present administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda, which is, ‘Entertainment and Tourism’. Our barge MV Adimu Orisa is readily available for charter and as you can see, similar events like weddings, birthdays, shows etc. can be held on the boat while it cruises through the Lagos waterways”, he stated.
While assuring Lagos commuters of their safety and comfort on LAGFERRY boats and Lagos waterways, the Managing Director informed that the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration is committed to increasing the number of boats on the Lagos State waterways for the benefit of Lagosians.
Balogun hinted that the State government would construct more terminals to open up other areas to water transportation as encapsulated in the Traffic Management and Transportation pillar of the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda and as a viable means of decongesting the roads.
